Zan, 50

I have always been an active individual, and this started when I was a student. As an adult, I continue to exercise, from jogging to participating in bootcamps, yoga, and many more activities! However, as I get older, I have noticed that my metabolism rate starts to slow down. Going through menopause, I have started to gain weight and experience various aches. Determined to stay fit, lose weight, and understand what causes these aches, I decided to engage a personal trainer – Ais. I believe I am her first 8am client! *grin*
Ais is doing a fantastic job at helping me become fitter and stronger. She takes into account my fitness level and gradually ramps me up to a better level of fitness. She is good at reminding me to correct my body position and form.
Ais is a positive, enthusiastic individual who makes the entire gym experience enjoyable, engaging, and entertaining. She’s willing to answer any questions, address concerns, adapt the training, and push you out of your comfort zone.
Ais is a continual student and teacher, always bettering her knowledge and putting into action the benefits of what she has learned through the fitness program and communications. Ais is professional, personable, and generous with sharing her knowledge in fitness, dietary needs, and experiences. In her mind, nothing is impossible.

Coach feedback

“Health is the foundation for everything you want to achieve in life.”
Many mothers often say, “I don’t have time,” but Zan has completely broken through that mindset. Despite the demands of motherhood and her busy schedule, she has embraced strength training with a clear understanding of the importance of maintaining muscle mass as we age. She skillfully balances staying active while making time for her family, friends, and even calling a friend to join her workouts here at Grit.
Zan is a true role model for her children, showing them the power of perseverance. She excels in her career, contributes to her community, and embodies the grit needed to manage these responsibilities. Even on her hardest days, when the pressures of motherhood and her demanding job feel overwhelming, she remains committed to her health and mental wellbeing. I’m happy to accommodate her training sessions at her place whenever needed.
She has her favorite workouts and dreads the ones she likes least, but she still completes them without neglecting her weaker areas. Zan is a shining example for Malay Muslim women, breaking the stigma around prioritizing personal health and strength.
Working with Zan has been a transformative experience, not just for her but for me as a coach and a woman. Our conversations go far beyond fitness, and they’ve left a lasting impact on my own personal journey.
